• I take most photographs of my glass myself. Glass is notoriously difficult to photograph, with reflections, backgrounds and focus points, and I am not a professional photographer!

I photograph my pieces against a white background. This can make some clear areas of glass to potentially look white, but I generally add a description of the glass either in the collections page or on the individual piece description.

  • Every piece that I make is hand crafted and unique. My process is not high production, instead every piece is individually made. You will receive a piece lovingly created that represents the image and dimensions given.

However, I cannot specifically guarantee every snowflake on a bauble or crackle and crevasse on a mountain or indeed any piece will be identical. Due to the nature of my making, quenching in water crackles glass in unique ways on every piece and hammering fractures glass differently on each piece. Colour will flow and behave differently.

Every piece will vary and whilst I can attempt to standardise dimensions and aesthetics there will be tolerances. Due to differences in viewing devices, colours could appear differently. Also, the glass has a mind of its own and sometimes dictates to me how it turns out!

But that’s what you hopefully buy into, a unique statement piece of art, hand crafted to represent the essence of my inspirations.

  • I use Stripe and PayPal to process orders. These both accept all major credit cards including American Express and Diners. If you wish to pay by another method please contact me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk.

If we agree a commission or a special make for you we will agree percentages of the price to be paid upfront and at stages through the project. As I need to commit to upfront costs and the making is specifically for you these percentages are non-refundable.

  • You will receive an Order Confirmation email as soon as you place an order. If you do not please contact me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk so I can investigate and confirm your order has been received.

  • Once I receive your order, if it is in stock, I will send it as soon as possible. Normally this is immediately to within 2 to 3 working days.

On occasion, your piece may be on exhibition in a gallery in which case retrieving it may take a little longer. I will contact you if this is the case.

If your order is made to order I will contact you with timings. This may be 8 - 12 weeks.

If you have a specific date requirement please let me know by adding information in the “Additional Information” field on the order page and email me at alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk.

  • I have a flat rate for UK domestic shipping £20.00 packaging, administration and courier per box which may contain several pieces.

If your delivery address is in the UK Highlands, Islands, the Channel Islands or outside the UK, please contact me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk for shipping rates.

For mainland domestic UK (not Highlands and Islands) I ship using a next day courier. Your order will be sent by Powerflex using DPD as the UK courier. You will receive tracking information from DPD if you provide me with contact details.

You should be available to receive and sign for your package.

For Highlands and Islands or non UK addresses, please contact me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk for shipping rates. Everything is possible but to give prices for the variation of sizes, weights, delivery addresses and couriers is difficult so I will price your shipping once I know your specific requirements.

Please pay for UK domestic shipping and I will quote your shipping costs and invoice you this minus the cost of the UK shipping.

If you place a Bauble only order, please pay shipping and I will refund £12 so that you pay £8 for bauble only orders or visit my ETSY store https://AlisonVincentGlass.etsy.com

  • I pack your pieces very securely. I use new packing foam, placed in a new recyclable, sturdy double-wall cardboard shipping box and void filled with foam noodles. I pack to survive the couriers!

  • Gift wrapping is available at £5 extra. Please note this in the “Additional Information” section when ordering and include the additional £5 in your payment. Please also email me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk.

  • I hope that you love your glass.

If for any reason you are not happy with your glass please email me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk immediately. You have up to 14 days to return it in the original packaging for a refund or an exchange. It must be received by me in perfect condition and re-saleable - pack it well.

You will need to pay for the return courier if you change your mind unless your glass arrives damaged.

If this happens, please email me immediately on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk with your order number, photos and a description of the damage so I can resolve it quickly and come to a satisfactory solution. Please take photos of the glass with the packaging and retain the original packaging as you’ll need to return this with the piece.

For all returns, please use a reputable courier or Royal Mail with a trackable and signed for service. I am not responsible for any items you send that are lost or damaged in transit.

I will not replace or refund any piece that has been damaged by you or when in your possession. I will only accept goods returned by the purchaser and refund the purchaser.

If you bought a piece through a third party (gallery, shop etc.) please liaise with the same third party.

  • I hand inspect every piece to ensure there are no sharp edges.

  • I individually check and sign each piece, normally on the bottom of the piece or on the edge of bases.

I sign by using an engraving drill using my handwriting.

Sometimes I can engrave a short message depending on space. Please add this request and your preferred engraving in the “Additional Information” field in the order form and email me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk I will confirm what is possible.

The engraving is often clear and sometimes becomes clearer if moistened, like a secret message, but the glass dictates this, not me.

Generally I don’t sign baubles but could initial them if requested.

  • If you see anything but it is not available, please contact me. I regularly add more products to the website. I have a pre-order facility for a number of pieces, often with additional variations within the pre-order screen for you to select from. You can also sign up to a waitlist if something is out of stock so that you will be notified once it is back in stock. Please see the FAQ about every piece being unique.

Some pieces may be in stock when you order, some may need to be made to order. A general rule is 8 - 12 weeks but I will contact you with timings once I receive your order if it is not in stock.

If you have a specific date requirement please let me know by adding information in the “Additional Information” field on the order page and email me at alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk

If there is a particular item you would like or a special commission please get in touch.

  • I am very happy to discuss commissions. Please email me on alison@AlisonVincentGlass.co.uk.

  • Treat your glass with care! It is both strong but fragile.

Thin glass and crackled glass are strong but do not put force on them. Any crackles have been fire-polished to fully integrate with the piece.

To clean, smooth glass only needs a light, dusting, or if in a greasy, kitchen environment an occasional wash in soapy, lukewarm water, and rinsed in freshwater, followed by a buff with a soft lint free cloth.

Be careful with delicate or thin areas such as the edges of my waves and mountains.

Be very careful and light touched with crackled surfaces such as my Frozen Waves and Svalbard Icy Mountains. I don’t advise washing these.

Window and glass cleaning products and vinegar buffed with scrunched newspaper can be used on glass but do not use newspaper on crackled glass.

On sandblasted surfaces to avoid fingerprints wipe with a cloth dabbed in car dashboard cleaner.
