Alison and her team run glassblowing classes from her fully equipped glass studio in south Buckinghamshire.
If you or someone you know has ever wanted to try - here is your chance!
We offer a range of hands-on classes from short Blow Your Own Bauble experiences to Half Day Classes to more extensive Full Day Classes.
Our expert team will guide you throughout.

Blow Your Own Bauble Class

Join the team for a short and fun glassblowing experience suitable for complete beginners.

We’ll demonstrate making a bauble then guide you through the stages. We’ll gather the glass from the furnace for you, you’ll choose your colours and we’ll add them, we will add an initial bubble and then you will blow up your very own bauble! It may not be perfect, but it will be your unique bauble! 

4 students maximum per class. Each student creates a hand blown glass bauble, with our expert tuition, one at a time over the course of an hour.

Half Day Glassblowing Class

Your chance to try your hands at the art of glassblowing.

In this half day session, with our team’s expert guidance, you'll aim to create 2 of your own glass pieces from start to finish choosing from a solid sculpted piece and a hand blown glass bauble.

A unique opportunity to try traditional glassmaking in a working studio.

2 students maximum per class. Each student creates 2 pieces with our expert tuition. Class is 3 hours.

Full Day Glassblowing Class

In this 1 day glassblowing class you’ll learn from talented and experienced glassmakers. We’ll help you gather glass from the furnace at over 1100 degrees Celsius, use traditional tools and techniques to manipulate it shape it into a solid piece or blow it up to form a vessel.

You can select your pieces and colours and aim to make a solid piece - either a paper weight or ring holder, a bauble and a blown piece - either a small vase, tumbler or bowl.

3 students maximum per class. Each student creates 3 pieces with our expert tuition. Class is 6 hours plus a lunch break - please bring a packed lunch.

Important to know

Who is the class for?

Classes are suitable for complete beginners or those with some skills. Ages 18+ for classes and 10+ for Blow Your Own Bauble classes. All children must be supervised by an adult at all times in the studio.

Start / Finish times

Bauble Classes start on the hour as per the booking options and last 60 minutes.
Half Day Classes - 3 hours.
Morning Classes 10am - 1pm
Afternoon Classes 2pm - 5pm
Full Day Classes - 6 hours - 10am - 5pm with a lunch break.

We start each class promptly. Please be on site 15 minutes before your class starts. We try to be flexible but if you are too late and cannot book onto your or the following class or if you do not attend your class we cannot issue refunds.

How many people can book on the class 

A maximum of :
Bauble Class 4 students
Half Day Class 2 students
Full Day Class 3 students.

The cost

Bauble Class £60.00 per student
Half Day Class £295.00 per student
Full Day Class £550.00 per student.

Add £10.00 per address if you want us to courier your baubles(s) or £20.00 per address to courier Half Day or Full Day pieces to you . (See optional add-ons when booking and see below).

What to wear

Please wear long sleeves and full-length trousers (no shorts, skirts or dresses) in natural fibres, not synthetic. Closed toe shoes and trainers (not high heels / platforms). Wear layers if it’s cool. Ideally wear a high neck T shirt with long sleeves, long trousers, nothing loose & flappy, no jewellery. Tie back long hair and beards.

Courier or Collection

You cannot take your glass home on the day - it needs to anneal - cool slowly for a few days - before we can cold work it, pack it and courier it to you. For Baubles, courier charge is £10.00 and for other classes £20.00 per address. Please select at check out.
Or you can collect it from us after 48 hours at a mutually agreed time (normally on Tuesdays).

T&Cs of booking Glassblowing Classes

We accept changes and refunds up to 2 weeks prior to the class date. Any requests for a change of class date or refund made after that time may be declined. While we try our best to reallocate your class date, we may sometimes have to refund you and cancel the class.  If you are unwell we will try to move your class but you must notify us as soon as possible. Because of class availability, it is sometimes not possible to switch times or dates.

Please sign acceptance of the brief.  We start each class promptly.  We try to be flexible but if you are too late for your class and the following class is full or if you do not show up for your class we cannot issue refunds.
